The Electoral vote; they who understand how things work in the USA can really come to live in Italy.

Electoral vote. In the USA, people vote for the candidate they like. This is called popular vote. But, although one candidate got the majority of the people vote he needs another vote majority: the electoral vote. There seems to be a group of about 530 political representatives having the last word about it. But I need to read more about that....really complicated.
